Terry McCutcheon

March 31, 2022

Terry Lee McCutcheon was born Oct. 28, 1955, in Superior, Neb., to Lorna (Wilton) and Richard "Dick" McCutcheon, and an older sister, Wendy, who never stopped pestering him. He died March 27, 2022, while surrounded by his family at his home.

Terry spent his younger years growing up in Colorado. His love for the mountains and elk hunting stayed with him all through his life, and he always rooted for his Denver Broncos. In 1969, his family moved back to Kansas and began farming with his grandad, Gail Hudiburgh. Terry graduated from Burr Oak High School in 1973, and Beloit Vo-Tech in 1974.

He was united in marriage with the love of his life, Janice Cockroft, in 1974. This union was blessed with three brats, Shane, Krystal and Justin. This continued on into what is now seven generations of family farming, with his wife, children and grandchildren carrying on Sky Blue Farms.

Starting with row crops with his grandad, he later spent several years with his family putting up big square bales of alfalfa before switching back to row crops. He and his family also raised registered Gelbvieh cattle for many years.

Terry enjoyed golfing, and also riding trails all over the country, but mostly in Arizona, where he and Janice stayed during their winters. He liked spending his days looking for bighorn sheep and guiding family and friends on "Terry's Tours." Most importantly, Terry loved the Lord. He had a strong relationship with God and depended on Him greatly to get through this life that wasn't always easy for him. After having an almost fatal accident in 1980, he gave his life to the Lord and was an
