L-N boys golf

 


The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys golf team opened their season last Tuesday with a quadrangular match at Superior. They were scheduled to play the Superior Invitational, Thursday but Inclement weather (snow and wind) led to the event being cancelled.

The team competed at the Sandy Creek quadrangular meet at the Crooked Creek Golf Course in Clay Center Tuesday with match results unavailable at press time.

The Raiders finished in second place at Superior with a team score of 200. Other teams at the match were Red Cloud, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley and Superior.

Conner Janda shot a round of 44 to lead the Raiders and finish in first place in the individual scoring. Krayton Kucera carded a round of 48, good for third place on the individual list. Wyatt Brockman and Toby Kotinek each shot a round of 54. Wyatt Hajny came in with a round of 55. The four lowest scores make up the team score.

The Raiders fielded two junior varsity squads at the match. Team one, with a team score of 213, was led by Bayln Bargen with his round of 51. Trev Mueller put up a round of 53. Clay Williams was in with a round of 54.

Team two finished with a team score of 242, Cody Brockman and Jacob Karmazin each posted a round of 57. Corbin Karmazin and Hayden Mazour closed out with rounds of 64. Bailey Ceder had a round of 75.

The Raiders visit Red Cloud Tuesday for a triangular match alongside Superior.
