Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the Superior Invitational

Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the Superior Invitational golf match scheduled for Thursday at the Superior Country Club. Overnight snow and gusty winds led Kirk Utecht, head coach and country club superintendent, to cancel the event.

The team was able to play a nine-hole quadrangular match with Lawrence-Nelson, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley and Red Cloud last Tuesday when the temperature reached 80 degrees.

Superior finished in fourth place, with 242 strokes, in the four team field.

Carsyn Koening led Superior with a round of 53. Ashton Grassman carded a round of 59. Taygun Rothchild finished with a round of 60. Aaron Allgood left the course with a round of 64 on his card. Seth Griljava recorded a round of 75.

Tate Streit put up a round of 59 in junior varsity play.

The four lowest scores are used to compile the team score.

The Wildcats compete at the Red Cloud triangular, along, with Lawrence-Nelson, Tuesday.
