The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Franklin Flyer Invitational, at Franklin, last Tuesday.

Elsa Jorgensen and Brook Combs competed in the preliminary heats of the girls 100 meter dash.

Kara Menke landed second place points in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.59 seconds. Hannah Skinner and Combs participated in the preliminary heats but did not advance to the final round.

Menke added another seond place finish with her 1:05.58 effort in the 400 meter dash.

Jessica Sole recorded a third place finish in the 3200 meter run with her time of 15:14.27.

Emma Epley was the top finisher in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 17.26 seconds. Sydney Biltoft crossed the finish line in second place with her time of 18.12 seconds.

Biltoft cruised to a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 51.5 seconds.


The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Biltoft, Menke, Aleah Heikkinen and Jorgensen took fifth place with their time of 4:52.78.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Claire Himmelberg, Hannah Skinner, Combs and Sole earned second place points with their time of 12:30.05.

Heikkinen turned in a fifth place finish in the discus with her throw of 89’8”. Kylie Beard was in seventh place with her throw of 84’2”.

Beard was in fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 30’5.5”. Danyelle Church had a best throw of 19’5.25”.

Biltoft was in sixth place in the high jump at 4’4”.

Epley topped the long jump field with her leap of 15’.5”. Jorgensen came in third with a jump of 14’2.5’. Skinner had a jump of 12’2.75”. Combs had a leap of 10’6.5”.


Epley added another first place finish to her days work in the triple jump with an effort of 31’7.25”.

Sawyer Cox, Rocky Miller and Riley Cannaday ran in preliminary heats of the 100 meter dash. They failed to advance to the final heat,

Riley Cannaday ran a preliminary heat in the 200 meter dash.

Carter Griffis was in ninth place in the 400 meter dash with his time of 1:01.05.

Nolan Ostdiek was in first place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:16.6.

Griffis was in ninth place in the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 20.82 seconds. He finished sixth in the 300 meter hurdles with his time of 48.6 seconds.


Cox held ninth place in the shot put with a toss of 33’8.5”. Cannaday had a best toss 26’2.5”. Login Hoecker had a toss of 22’11.25”.

Cox nailed second place points in the discus with a throw of 11’7”. Cannaday was in ninth with his throw of 88’. Hoecker had an effort of 61’1”.

Griffis took third place in the triple jump when he covered 34’7.75”.

The team competes at the Del Wicks Invitational at Deshler today (Thursday). The Raiders visit Superior Tuesday for the Superior Invitational.
