The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the St. John's Invitational at Beloit last Tuesday.

The girls team finished in seventh place, with 33 points, in the 13 team field. Other teams at the meet were Bennington, Osborne, Lincoln, Thunder Ridge, St. John's, Tescott, Tipton, Central Plains, Sunrise Christian Academy, Southern Cloud and Beloit.

The boys team was in 11th place with 17 points in the 15 team field. Beloit and Sylvan Unified did not field teams in the girls events.

Grace Ayers took third place in the 100 meter dash with her time of 14.05 seconds. Austyn Groote did not advance from her preliminary heat.

Hannah Simmelink competed in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.87 seconds.

Isabel Navarro took part in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:22.02.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Groote, Lauren Whelchel, Simmelink and Ayers finished in third place with their time of 57.94 seconds.


Whelchel took fifth place in the high jump at 4'4". Raylynn Anders Raylynn Anderes was in sixth place with her jump of 4'2".

Whelchel took second place in the pole vault with her bar clearing 6'6" effort.

Simmelink covered 27'8.5" in the triple jump.

Ayers picked up the second place finish in the long jump with her jump of 15'1.5".

Jada Beach had a best toss of 23'4" for the shot put.

Groote had a throw of 61'6" in the discus. Groote threw the javelin 60'11.25".

Wyatt Evert posted a time of 12.76 seconds for the boys 100 meter dash.

Kit Wagner completed the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.45 seconds.


Tyler Hanson finished the 400 meter dash with his time of 1"01.72.

Trystyn Reynolds took sixth place in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:14.55. he finished in fourth place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12;02.91.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of evert, Isaiah Ridgeway, Camden Ward and Wagner took third place with their time of 48.87 seconds.

Ridgeway listed a height of 5' for the high jump. He took fourth in the pole vault with his height of 9'.

Wagner turned in a leap of 18'5" in the long jump. Hanson recorded a jump of 15'11.25".

Ridgeway covered 35'10.5" in the triple jump. Ward covered 35'9.5".

Evert earned the fourth place points in the shot put with his toss of 35'9.5". Aaron Underwood had a best toss of 35'9.5".


Underwood had a throw of 102'6" in the discus. Underwood threw the javelin 60'6".

The Grizzlies visit Belleville Tuesday for the Republic County Lions Club Invitational.
