The Jewell County Cinema, Inc. (JCCI) Board met March 28. The meeting was held by ZOOM and in person and was called to order by Thadd Hinkle. Those present for the meeting were Thadd Hinkle, Lisa Goodheart, Phyllis Christie, Janis McDill, Virgil Jones, and Sarah Ortman. Kristin Underwood attended by ZOOM.

Lisa Goodheart read the minutes of the February meeting, which were accepted as presented. Janis McDill presented the treasurer’s report, saying JCCI lost $340.65 the last month. The upcoming movies are: “The Batman,” “Marry Me,” “The Lost City” (two weekends), “Morbius” and “Sonic, the Hedgehog.”

Thadd Hinkle said there was good attendance for “Sabina.” There will be a slide show in the theater running on a 15 minute loop, starting at 10 a.m., on the Saturday of Memorial weekend. There is an offer of donated popcorn, if the board wants it for that weekend. They would sell popcorn from 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.

There will be a program in the theater at 2 p.m., on the Sunday of Memorial weekend, so the movie will be shown at 7:30 p.m. The movie times for that weekend will be: Friday, Sunday and Monday night at 7:30 p.m. It was approved to cancel the movie for Easter Sunday. The board decided to hold the ice cream social in August. Thadd said movie trailers run from 7 to 8 p.m., on the AXS cable channel. Contact Phyllis if you are interested in volunteering.
