School remodeling on hold for now

Members of the Superior Board of Education unanimously rejected a bid of $1,389,214 proposed to build a new entrance to the secondary school and renovate the office area. The bid represents a building cost of more than $500 per square foot. Original projections were in the $800,000 range or approximately $325 per square foot.

Earlier this year, money was secured at 1.3 percent interest rate for the project, that money can be used anytime within the next three years. $50,000 must be spent by June 1 of this year as part of the agreement.
