Elizabeth "Betty" Lee Donohoo, 98, of Longmont, Colo., died Sunday, April 17, 2022. Betty was born March 18, 1924, in Jewell, Kan.

Betty was an only child, born to Lile and Ercilla Bevington on a farm northwest of Jewell. She is survived by her son Bob (Linda) Donohoo and cousin Billie Jean (Russell) Hart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ercilla and Lile Bevington; son, Donald Ross Donohoo; ex-husband, Dale Donohoo; and cousin, Jack Hull.

Betty went to country school through sixth grade. Then the family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and later to Ontario, Ore., before settling in Boulder, Colo. She liked being outdoors with her dad and baking with her mother.

She graduated from Boulder High School in 1942, continued on to Colorado University – Boulder and remained connected to CU Boulder for 50 years. During which time she also did volunteer work for the CU athletic department. She liked her Buffs.

During her time at CU, she met Dale Donohoo who was in the Navy, stationed at CU Boulder Aircorps. They were married March 17, 1945.

After retirement from CU, she moved to Longmont, Colo., and volunteered at the US Postal Service in Longmont.

Betty was president of the Boulder American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of Easter Star, Colorado Columbine Chapter 1.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colo 80501.
