Contract accepted for the sale of the Methodist church parsonage

 


President Kenny Mizner called the April 27, special meeting of the USD 107 Board of Education to order. Those present were Kenny Mizner, Marc Grout, Brandon Hollerich, Wayne Frost, Justin Angleton, Bobi Fogo, Brenden Wirth (Zoom), Rex Boley, Cassi Bozarth and Janet Higer.

Guests were: Zach Snethan of HTK Architects, Brian Fuemmeler and Mike Hattrup of McCown-Gordon Construction, Dustin Avey of Piper Sandler (joined by Zoom), Darrin Headrick, Sarah Ortman, Ashton Cates, Angie Ayers, Philip Menhusen, Damon Bohnert, Libby Duffy, Destiny Flavin, Nathan Greene, Beth Walker, Ashley

Underwood, Kevin Peroutek, Justin Schoonover, Rodney Beam, Billie Cox and Darrell Miller.

Mr. Boley opened with introductions from the audience and reviewed highlights from the previous special meeting.

Dustin Avey of Piper Sandler provided bond and mill levy information and answered questions from the floor.

Zac Sneathan, Brian Fuemmeler and Mike Hattrup reviewed options touching on information they took away from the previous facilities study special meeting on April 20. A lengthy discussion regarding both the elementary and junior-senior high facilities options was held.

The board went into executive session with Mr. Boley and Mr. Miller present to discuss the acquisition of real property pursuant to the preliminary discussion of the acquisition of real property exception under KOMA.

When the open meeting resumed the board voted to accept the contract offered from United Methodist Church for the sale of the parsonage in the amount of $65,000 plus closing costs.

The next regular meeting of the USD No. 107 Board of Education will be Monday, May 9, at 1 p.m. in the board room of the district office.
