Saturday is graduation day At 4 area schools

 


For many members of the Class of 2022, Saturday will mark a milestone in an educational journey they began as kindergarten pupils in the fall of 2008. That’s right, Saturday is graduation day for Superior, Lawrence-Nelson, Rock Hills, Red Cloud and Sandy Creek high schools.

The commencement service for Superior, Rock Hills and Sandy Creek students will begin at 2 p.m. in their respective high school gyms.

For those attending Deshler High School, commencement will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

This year’s Superior High School senior class has 32 members. There are 13 at Lawrence-Nelson, 19 at Rock Hills and 32 at Sandy Creek.

This year marks the 135th annual Superior High School commencement. It will be held at 2 p.m. in the Superior High School Gymnasium and is open to the public.

The high school’s concert band under the direction of Mrs. Allison White will play the processional, national anthem and recessional. Matt Sullivan, school board president will present the diplomas.

Superior, Rock Hills and Sandy Creek seniors have also attended baccalaureate services this week. Sandy Creek had a baccalaureate breakfast at 7 a.m. Wednesday. The Rock Hills seniors attended a baccalaureate service at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s Little Theatre.

The Superior High School baccalaureate service is being organized by the Superior ministerial alliance. Natalie Faust will deliver the sermon. Others Superior area pastors will join in presenting the service. Refreshments will be served following the service.
