COVID-19 postive tests are up in county

 


The Jewell County Commissioners met, Monday, May 9. Commissioners Steve Greene, Brent Beck, and Keith Roe were present. Carla J. Waugh, county clerk, was present for the meeting.

Darren Booth, Theel Insurance & Financial Services, a claims management service, was here to speak to the commissioners about the proposed medical plan design.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed road projects. Casey Frasier, Foley Tractor, visited with the commissioners.

The commissioners approved the revised Employment Rules and Regulations for the ambulance, appraiser, courthouse, health, highway department (road and bridge), solid waste and noxious weed departments for the 2 percent cost of living increase for hourly employees, beginning May 15, 2022.

Carla Waugh said Cindy Becker, health administrator, reported they continue to provide COVID-19 boosters. She said more people are testing positive in the last week for COVID-19. Cindy said this week is nurse’s week, and she will recognize nursing staff via social media.
