Hayes places third at first heptathion

 


Trisha Hayes earned a third place all conference at the American Rivers Conference heptathion in DeBuque, Iowa, over the weekend.

Hayes hit 3,564 points for her third place all conference ranking and eight all-time for Nebraska Wesleyan.

Hayes reported she started seriously working at being a heptathlete a little more than a month ago and is excited to pursue the adventure which requires one to run, jump and throw.

The events in the women's division of the heptathion were shot put, javelin, long jump, high jump, 200 meter race, 100 meter hurdles and the 800 meter race.

Trisha is the daughter of Todd and Missy Hayes, Superior, and a 2020 graduate of Superior High School.

She currently is a student at Nebraska Wesleyan where she is studying to become an athletic trainer.
