RHHS sending one to state track meet

 


The Washington County High School track was the site of the Region 1A state qualifying meet Thursday. The Grizzlies boys team finished in 19th place with six points. The girls team was in 23rd place with one point.

Nate Meyers, a freshman, will represent Rock Hills in the long jump at the state meet Friday and Saturday at Wichita. Meyers finished in third place with his jump of 20’9”.

Trystn Reynolds finished in seventh place in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:26.99.

Kit Wagner ran a preliminary heat of the 400 meter dash but did not advance to the final heat.

Wyatt Evert had a toss of 36’1.5” in the shot put. Aaron Underwood recorded a toss of 34’8”.

Evert had a throw of 108’5” in the discus. Underwood listed a throw of 99’2”.

Evert had a javelin throw of 108’9”.

Grace Ayers ran a preliminary heat of 14.56 seconds in the 100 meter dash. She had a heat of 29.63 seconds in the 200 meter dash. She did not advance to the final heat for either event.

Hannah Simmelink had a 32.02 second heat in the 200 meter dash.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team finished in 10th place with their time of 56.43 seconds.

Simmelink had a time of 1:14.95 in the 400 meter dash.

Lauren Whelchel cleared 4’8” in the high jump. She earned sixth place in the pole vault when she cleared 8’.

Ayers was in seventh place in the long jump with her distance of 14’8.25”.

Faith Reinert had a toss of 26’6” for the shot put. She had a throw of 72’5” for the discus.

The state meet is being held at Cessna Stadium at Wichita State University.
