Vacant lot wedding

Friday evening, a tall wooden triangle (visible with careful inspection in the center right of the picture) was placed in the vacant lot west of the Superior Auditorium. Saturday morning, a host of volunteers placed the white chairs and the neighborhood suspected an outdoor wedding would take place sometime that day.

Late Saturday afternoon, guests gathered for the wedding of Jerett Roesti and Samantha Jeffs at the vacant lot directly west of the Superior Auditorium. Shade was a popular commodity, as the outdoor temperature had warmed into the upper 80s and the afternoon sun bore in like an intense spotlight. As this picture was taken, the bridemaids and groomsmen are in place as the flower girls begin their journey down the white pathway just prior to the bride and her escort appearing. It was the first time the area has been used for an outdoor celebration since the area was donated to the Superior Auditorium earlier this year. This spring volunteers have trimmed the cedar tree perimeter along the north edge so the Fifth Street traffic is visible.
