The Hastings Tribune named Ella Gardner to the All-Tribland 2022 female Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

Gardner, a junior at Superior High School, set a state Class C long jump record. She put on a brave performance at the state meet earning 36 of a possible 40 points on her way to two gold and two silver medals.

Her versatility is apparent in her events. She earned silver medals at the state meet for the 100 and 200 meter dashes. She earned gold medals for her performances in the long and triple jumps.
