Two teams join the Friday night golf league at ECCC

Even though it was a little warm, or hot, everyone came out to compete in the third round of competition at the Elk Creek Country Club in Nelson, Friday evening.

Two additional teams were welcomed  Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf and Richard P. and Heather Watson.

The play format for the evening: the men did all of the putting with the option to putt either hole.  Hunter Holland had the longest putt on No. 6 at 239” (20 ft.). Way to go! Richard Watson Sr. was the closest to the 100 yard marker on No. 4 and Emily Wulf and Jerry Bargen shared the flag prize on No. 8 for being the closest to the green but not quite on.

Joe Harwell and Jenny Simmons had a low net score of 31 this week and Dorrrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe had a high gross score of 51. Royce and Brenda Schott took an 8 on No. 4 and a 7 on No. 9, Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe had a 7 on No. 1 and No. 6 for the most over on a hole with 3 each.

Rod Burge completed his round with only 12 putts, but it took Dorrel Lipker 21 putts.

So after three weeks Cody and Crystal are holding on to first place with their two additional points giving them a total of 6.

Jim and Mary Farmer earned another 1 1/2 points this week giving them 5  points for a solo second place.

Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher are now in third place with 4 1/2 points.

Richard and Verlene Watson earned both points this week giving them 4 and a move up to fourth place.

Tied for fifth place with their same 3 points are the teams of Ken and Jan Rempe and Craig German and Cindy Hewitt.

Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe earned both of their points this week giving them 2 1/2 points and moving up to seventh place.

With 2 points, there is a 5 way tie for eighth place.  Rod and Sue Burge; Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle; Royce and Brenda Schott; Joe Harwell and Jenny Simmons and Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf.

And still getting ‘warmed up,’ are the teams of Coke and Cindy Troudt and Richard P.  and Heather Watson.

The teams gathered afterwards for the grilled burgers

This week the women will be doing all of the teeing off.
