Tuttles enjoy calling Fun Day Bingo

Chuck Tuttle calls Bingo at the Nelson Fun Days for the Nelson Legion Auxiliary. Bingo has been a fun way to fill the time between dinner and fireworks during the for many years.

A variety of games have long held a prominent place in the annual Nelson Community Fun Day.

And one of those games has been bingo. For the last five years bingo has been a fun fill-in for the time between the hamburger feed and the opening of the beer garden and the fireworks display. Originally the Nelson Community Club asked Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Tuttle to oversee the games since they had the necessary supplies. Last year the Tuttles turned the bingo activity over to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Players varied in number, with anywhere from 10 to 30 individuals of all ages listening eagerly for their numbers to be called.

This year nearly 30 prizes donated by Nelson businesses and individual Legion Auxiliary members were awarded during the evening. Prizes ranged from bubbles and crayons for the youngsters to goodie baskets to household items and lawn decor.

Funds generated from the cards will be used to supply prizes for next year and to fund youth activities.
