Bonnie Belle Hawk

 


Bonnie Belle (Parsons, Haskell) Hawk, 89, of Topeka, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

She was born Jan. 27, 1933, to Leo B. Parsons and Dorthey Mae (Beeler) Parsons near Mankato in Jewell County.

Bonnie attended Mankato Public Schools and graduated in May of 1950. She furthered her education and attended Fairbury Junior College in Nebraska.

Bonnie married James R. Haskell in July of 1955. She remarried in September of 1979 to Wayne Hawk. Both husbands preceded her in death.

Bonnie worked for Hested’s regional office in Fairbury prior to moving to Omaha where she worked for Firestone’s regional office. After retiring, she moved to Topeka to be closer to her son, Jim, and his wife, Lisa, who own Annie’s Restaurant.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Jim (Lisa) Haskell; her grandchildren, Jason (Robin) Haskell, Ashley (Brandon) Holle, Garrett (Kelly) Gassman and Brett (Kristy) Gassman; her great-grandchildren, Reece Haskell, Nolan Haskell and Madison Marie Holle; her son-in-law, Joel Helvey; her sister-in-law, Sherry Parsons; her brother, Marvin (Iola) Parsons and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jan Helvey and a brother, Bob D. Parsons.

Her funeral was held Wednesday, June 29, at First Christian Church, Topeka, Kan. Inurnment of Bonnie’s cremated remains will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, Kan. 66604 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dove Cremations and Funerals -- Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, Kan., 66610 assisted the family.
