Verleen M. Gharring, 100, of Sheridan, Mich., died Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Laurels of Carson in Carson City, Mich. Originally from Nelson, Neb., Verleen and her late husband, Ivan, moved to the Sheridan area in the late 90s. Verleen taught in a one room schoolhouse for two years teaching first through eighth grades and then worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the agricultural stabilization conservation service division.
