Area residents have been pleased with the late July rains and the benefits the rain has brought to their lawns, gardens and crops. Even the country roads have benefited from the dust settling rain, but the Van Kirk Construction company crew trying to finish a Superior water main project on a rainy Monday was not so happy. The rain turned their work site near the water tower into a muddy mess as shown by the mud left on Fifteen Street by their machines.
