Standings remain the same for ECCC couples golf

August 4, 2022

What an absolutely beautiful Friday evening in Nelson for the Couples Summer Golf League!

The play format for Friday was to have everyone teeing off from the women’s tee boxes. Craig German and Cindy Hewitt came in with a 4 under par round (a low net score of 28) and captured two eagles on the way. One on the par 4  No. 1 and the other on the par 5  No. 4.

And on the opposite end, Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe really struggled this week. They came in with a 53.  They also had the most over on the par 4  No. 5  with a 9.

Mary Farmer found the alligator on No. 6 and Cindy Hewitt’s drive on No. 8 was the closest to the 100 yard marker.

After nine weeks of competition, the standings are staying the same. This week the top seven teams earned their two points and the bottom seven teams didn’t earn any.

First place:  Richard and Verlene Watson (14 points)

Second place: Cody and Crystal Wyatt (13 1/2 points)

Third place:  Craig German and Cindy Hewitt (13 points)

Fourth place: Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher (10 1/2 points)

Tied for fifth place: Joe Harwell and Jenny Simmons and Jim and Mary Farmer (10 points)

Seventh place:  Ken and Jan Rempe (9 1/2 points)

Eighth place: Coke and Cindy Troudt (7 1/2 points)

Tied for ninth place:  Rod and Sue Burge, Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf and Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle (6 1/2 points)

Twelfth place: Richard P.  and Heather Watson (6 points)

Thirteenth place: Royce and Brenda Schott ( 5 points)

Fourteenth place: Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe (3 1/2 points)

Supper followed the golfing.  Consensus is, there are some pretty good cooks out there!

The format for next week is everyone will tee off every time and then play alternating shots.
