Karon Bennett, 82, a longtime Grant resident, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at the Banner Health Sterling Regional Medical Center in Sterling, Colo.

She was born Karon Marie Bradley, on Jan. 25, 1940, at Deweese, Neb.

On April 25, 1968, Karon married Robert "Bob" Bennett. By Karon's own account, "I met Bob, the love of my life, in November of 1961. My one-year-old son and I had just moved to Grant, and Bob was the "telephone man" who installed our telephone. I felt such a connection to him but had no idea where it would lead.
