Museum will hold American artifact indentification day

The Pawnee Indian Museum State Historic Site will host an American Artifact Identification Day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Three archeologists will be at the museum at the museum site to view the items and offer information. They will not, however, offer appraisals.

While the artifact feature will be offered free of charge. The standard admission fees will be charged for those viewing the museum.

The museum is located at 480 Pawnee Trail which overlooks the Republican River southwest of Republic. The museum is eight miles north of U.S. Highway 36 on Kansas Highway 266.

The museum is operated by the Kansas Historical Society.
