An invitation has been extended asking members of the general public to assist with a disaster drill scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

The drill is being sponsored by the Mankato Fire and Rescue Department, Jewell County Emergency Medical Services and the Jewell County Sheriff’s Department. Surrounding fire departments have been invited to participate.

The general public can not only watch the drill but they will have a role to play. Members of the public will help the sheriff’s department practice crowd control.
