County budget passes with taxpayer objection

The Nuckolls County Board of Commissioners met at the county courthouse in Nelson, Tuesday. The normal Monday meeting day was moved because of the Labor Day holiday. Commissioner David Mussman was an excused absence.

The board approved a motion for the Nelson Community Club to display Christmas lights at the courthouse.

The board approved the purchase of three commercial quality dehumidifiers for use in the courthouse basement.

The board approved an agreement with WJE consulting. They provide a fund research consultancy to the office of the Clerk of the District Court.

The board held two public hearings, one at 8:30 and one at 11:30 a.m., for the 2022-2023 budget and summary. No members of the public attended.

The road department reported they are installing two culverts on Road D between roads 3300 and 3400,

The board will meet at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 19 at the courthouse.
