The South Central USD 5 High School cross country team competed at the Superior Invitational run over the Superior Country Club course, Thursday.

The boys field had full teams from McCool Junction, Fillmore Central, Grand Island Central Catholic, Fairbury, Hastings St. Cecilia and Blue Hill. Schools with runners who did not field a full team were South Central USD 5, Thayer Central, Superior, Deshler and Silver Lake.

Rowan Jarosik was the first place medalist with his time of 18:48:986. Sean Heaton was in 47th place with his time of 25:45.775.

The Red Raider team has no female runners this season.

The Red Raider harriers compete at the Fairbury Invitational today (Thursday), being run over the Fairbury High School course located behind the high school.

Superior Invite was the first meet of the year. Sean Heaton wasn't completely happy with his race. The heat affected him. He knows he can do better and is looking forward to Fairbury to prove himself.
