L-N football bounces back for win

The Lawrence-Nelson High School football team refused to allow their narrow loss last week get in the way. They rebounded nicely against a previously unbeaten Arapahoe team, at Arapahoe, Friday, with a 68-14 trouncing of the Warriors.

The Raiders scored early and often against a hapless Arapahoe defense. The second half was played under the mercy rule with a running clock. That didn't stop Lawrence-Nelson from putting on their best offessive and defensive show of the season.

Krayton Kucera completed 10 of his 12 pass attempts for 237 yards and three touchdowns.

Bayln Bargen was the recipient fof four passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Toby Kotinek hauled in two passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. Erik Wheeland turned his lone reception into a 71 yard touchdown jaunt. Tyson Kotinek grabbed one pass for 25 yards. Clay Williams had one reception for 12 yards. Conner Janda had a three yard reception.


Kucera gained 88 yards and scored six touchdowns with his 13 carries. Toby Kotinek gained 82 yards on nine carries. Janda carried the ball five times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Devyn Zikmund zipped in for touchdown on one of his three carries for 49 yards. Bargen picked up 20 yards with his three totes. Janda had four carries for 47 yards and a touchdown. Carter Griffis picked up 10 yards with his sole carry. Cody Funk was good for five yards with his single carry.

Kucera accounted for five solo tackles and three assisted tackles. Janda and Toby Kotinek contributed three solo tackles and two assisted tackles apiece. Bargen posted three solo tackle and an assist. Keaton Mazour, Sawyer Cox and Williams had two solo tackles and an assisted tackle each. Tyson Kotinek and Zikmund contributed two solo tackles each. AJ Koehler made a solo tackle and assisted with five tackles. Caden Culbertson and Wyatt Hajny accounted for a solo and an assisted tackle each. Nathan Pofahl added a solo tackle. Funk and Griffis each assisted with two tackles. Nathan Elledge and Cole Thompson each had an assisted tackle.


Kansas Public Notices

The Raiders travel to Blue Hill Friday for a contest with the 1-2 Bobcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
