Rita Mazour attends her first Husker Football Game

September 22, 2022

University of Nebraska Husker Football has been around for 132 years with one name or another.

Shortly Rita Mazour of Lawrence will be celebrating her 90th birthday.

The two had never gotten to know each other 'face-to-face.'

Well, that changed a couple of weeks ago when Rita attended her first Corn Husker football game in Lincoln. Being able to enjoy the entire 'experience' of a Nebraska football game in Lincoln was an early birthday gift from her family. Her grandson, Mike Ostdiek, made arrangements and she was joined by several family members for the day of memories.

The day included having picture taken with some of the Cornhusker Cheerleaders, a couple of Husker basketball players and just enjoying the "Husker Game Experience." Rita noted after several days back home, it was an exciting experience, but she also really enjoyed the next several days, just resting up.

"A First Time for Everything." It has taken almost 90 years, but Rita Mazour had the fun experience of attending a Nebraska Cornhusker football game for the first time. Shown with Rita at a recent Husker game are family members able to join her. They are: (Back, l to r) Mike Ostdiek, R.J. Dechow, Jenee Kucera, Rita Mazour, and Linda Ostdiek.
