Delbert E. Mendenhall, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 25, at his home in Formoso. He was born on Sept. 13, 1947, in Concordia to Everett T. and Frances V. (Burch) Mendenhall, Sr.

Delbert attended Concordia schools. He worked numerous jobs in the Concordia area including C&E, Levendofsky Dairy, ABB Raymond, Mendenhall Tree Service and Mendenhall Farms. Delbert never knew a stranger and enjoyed working outside. He often helped his brother-in-law, Mike, build fence and cut trees. Delbert’s true passions were hunting and fishing, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Lila, Formoso; daughter, Nichole Ham (Matthew), Simpson; sons, Brian Mendenhall (Renee), Oklahoma City, Okla., Jesse Mendenhall and Casey Mendenhall, Glasco; stepdaughter, Evelyn Hayes, Formoso; former wife, Marsha (Appleby) Smith, Glasco; brothers, Raymond Mendenhall (Bersita), and Calvin Mendenhall (Paula), both of Concordia; 10 grandchildren, one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded by his parents, brothers, James and Everett, Jr.
