Superior committee forms to explore child care options

November 10, 2022

Following the closing of the Lighthouse Childcare Center, a committee of concerned area residents has been organized to explore ways to fill the need for childcare services within the community. Both individuals and employers are represented on the committee.

The committee is exploring funding sources and potential locations including building new or remodelling existing structures.

To better understand what is needed, the Superior Development Office has distributed postcards and placed an advertisement in this newspaper seeking community direction. A survey is currently being conducted via the internet and a minimum of 300 responses are need in the next few days. Advertisements which contain QR codes which will link to the survey and the actual link address are printed on Page 7 of this issue. The post cards and advertisements are printed in both English and Spanish to meet the standards of one of the potential funding sources. If unable to access the internet survey, area residents are invited to visit the city office and talk with Mary Scroggins who will help them complete the survey.
