The Lawrence-Nelson boys basketball team is clawing its way back to the .500 mark. They won two of their past three games to get to 6-7.

The Raiders downed Rock Hills 45-20 at Mankato last Tuesday. The Raiders lost a tough one, 45-41, to Kenesaw at Nelson Friday. The Raiders cruised to a 54-33 over Axtell, at Axtell, Saturday.

Lawrence-Nelson jumped out to a 26-8 half time lead over Rock Hills and never looked back as they sailed to a 45-20 win.

It was nip and tuck for the Raiders when took on the Kenesaw Blue Devils. The Raiders trailed by one point, 24-23 at the end of two quarters. It was a sluggish third quarter that doomed the team. They fell behind 33-29 and were unable to overcome the deficit despite their best efforts.

It was over at halftime when the Raiders took a 35-15 lead over Axtell into the locker room. Lawrence-Nelson held the Wildcats at bay and recorded a 54-33 win.

Krayton Kucera led the Raiders scoring against Rock Hills with nine points. Clay Williams hit for eight points. Erik Wheeland came through with five points. Toby Kotinek, Tyson Kotinek and Nolan Ostdiek contributed four points each. Bayln Bargen and Connor Janda score two points each. Sawyer Cox hit a free throw for one point. Tyson Kotinek grabbed five rebounds. Williams snagged four rebounds. Cox, Kucera and Keaton Mazour picked off three rebounds apiece. Toby Kotinek landed a rebound. Bargen, Janda and Wheeland bagged a rebound each.

Ostdiek put through 15 points against Kenesaw. Williams accounted for 10 points. Kucera produced eight points. Toby Kotinek added four points. Bargen and Janda scored two points each. Williams elbowed his way to 12 rebounds. Ostdiek claimed eight rebounds. Janda and Kucera collected five rebounds apiece. Toby Kotinek pulled off three rebounds. Bargen had one rebound.

Kucera hit for 16 points against Axtell. Bargen and Ostdiek opted in with eight points each. Williams chipped in seven points. Janda accounted for five points. Toby Kotinek and Devyn Zikmund netted three points apiece. Cox and Mazour scored two points each. Williams controlled nine rebounds for the Raiders. Ostdiek muscled his way to four rebounds. Toby Kotinek, Tyson Kotinek and Kucera scrambled for three rebounds each. Cox, Wheeland and Aiden Zikmund nabbed a rebound each.

The Raiders host Diller-Odell at Nelson Thursday. The Blue Hill Bobcats come to Nelson Tuesday.
