It was one step forward and two steps back for the Lawrence-Nelson girls basketball team as they won one of the three games they played.

The Rock Hills Grizzlies handed the Raiders a 45-39 loss at Mankato last Tuesday. The Raiders edged Kenesaw 36-30 at Nelson Friday. The Axtell Wildcats downed Lawrence-Nelson 46-36 at Axtell Saturday. The Raiders hosted Deshler at Nelson, Tuesday, with game results unavailable at press time.

The Raiders stayed close in all the games they played. They fell short against Rock Hills and Axtell.

Katelyn Mazour and Kara Menke led the Lawrence-Nelson scoring against Rock Hills with 12 points each. Sydney Biltoft and Emily Troudt put up four points each. Josie Hajny added three points. Hanna Skinner and Jessica Sole scored two points each. Troudt slammed the boards for nine rebounds. Menke landed eight rebounds. Mazour and Skinner produced four rebounds each. Biltoft added two rebounds. Hajny and Sole had a rebound each.

Menke lead the Raider scoring against Kenesaw with 17 points. Addi McCloskey hit for three points each. Biltoft, Skinner and Troudt scored two points each. Menke pulled away seven rebounds. Troudt added five rebounds. Mazour listed three rebounds. Biltoft and Sole collected two rebounds apiece. McCloskey had a rebound.

Menke dropped through 11 points to lead the Raider scoring against Axtell. Mazour hit for 10 points. Biltoft was good for six points. Troudt added four points. Skinner tallied three points. Sole scored two points. Biltoft took away six rebounds. Menke handled five rebounds. Sole held down four rebounds. Skinner caught up with three rebounds. Mazour had two rebounds. McCloskey added a rebound.

The Raiders host Diller-Odell at Nelson Thursday. The Blue Hill Bobcats visit Nelson Tuesday.
