January brought changes to the Jewell County Sheriff’s department. A new alert system was implemented, two deputies were attending the law enforcement academy and the department received a new K-9 named Rambo.

Shawn Sprayberry began working part-time with the Jewell County office in addition to his full-time job as a deputy with the Republic County Sheriff’s Department where he has been for the past two years.
