SHS drill team seeks to retain state title for fourth year

The Superior High School drill team performed at the Superior versus Lawrence-Nelson Friday evening. The team plans to compete in the Class C2-D dance and cheer competition in Grand Island, Friday. They have earned the top place in high kick competition the past three years. Pictured above (from left) are Lilly Edwards, Haley Blackstone and Laci Kirchhoff. Other members of the team are Halle Bargen, Neveah Wilhelms, Faith Butler, Nadia McMeen, Cora Schnakenberg, Katelyn Nielsen, Neah McMeen, and Brooklynn Grabast. Stephanie Corman is the coach.

The 11 members of the Superior high school drill team are on a mission. They seek their fourth consecutive C-2 state championship high kick title at the Grand Island Heartland Events Center Friday.

They will compete against nine teams for the coveted title.

The team is coached by Stefanie Corman.

Senior team members looking to be part of the historic event are Laci Kirchhoff, Haley Blacktone, Neah McMeen and Brooklyn Grabast.

Junior class members are Lilly Edwards, Neveah Wilhelms and Nadia McMeen.

Halle Bargen and Faith Butler are the sophomore class representatives.

Kaitlynn Nielsen is the lone freshman class team member.

The team will perform during the early afternoon.
