SHS girls open sub-district play

The Superior High School girls basketball team finished their regular season schedule with a convincing 47-24 win over intra-county rival Lawrence-Nelson at Superior Friday.

This is always a hotly contested game. Unfortunately, The Raiders were out matched from the onset and Superior coasted to their 19th win of the season against four losses.

Sadie Cornell was the shooter with the hot Superior hand scoring 22 points. Ella Gardner dropped through 11 points. Halle Bargen added five points. Laci Kirchhoff scored four points. Lilly Edwards and Ariana Heusinkvelt contributed two points apiece.

Superior opened sub-district C-2 play, Tuesday, as the number one seed. They faced off against Fillmore Central at the Superior High School gymnasium with game results unavailable at press time.

Should the Wildcats prevail in Tuesday's contest, they will play the winner of Tuesday's Sutton-Thayer Central game. Thursday at Superior with a 7 p.m. tip off.
