Sydney Biltoft competes at state track meet

Sydney Biltoft is shown 'neck and neck' with two other runners in the hurdles event at the Nebraska State Track Meet in Omaha this week.

The 2023 NSAA High School Track Meet was held in Omaha. Classes A and B was held last Wednesday and Thursday and Classes C and D were held Friday and Saturday.

Representing Lawrence-Nelson High School at the State Track Meet in Omaha last weekend were Preston Hild - coach, Shiela McCartney - coach, Sydney Biltoft and Randi Fox - coach.

Lawrence-Nelson High School was represented by one lone participant. That was Sydney Biltoft who competed in both the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles.

In spite of doing very well at area meets this Spring, the competition was a little tougher in Omaha.

In the 100 meter hurdles she finished in 9th place in the preliminaries, not qualifying for the finals. Her time was 16.33.

In the 300 meter hurdles she finished in 20th place in the preliminaries, again not qualifying for the finals. Her time was 50.77.

The L-N Girl's Track Team was down in numbers this season, but Sydney continued a proud tradition for the girls and can be proud of her qualification to take part in the state meet.
