The Rock Hills High School football team saw their three game winning streak halted, 60-12, when they ran into the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs at Sylvan Grove Friday.
Sylvan Grove got off to a fast start taking a 24-12 lead after the first quarter. The Grizzlies had no answers on offense or defense as they trailed 46-14 at the half. Sylvan-Lucas added 14 points in the third quarter when the mercy rule was invoked and Rock Hills was left with its first loss of the season, 60-12.
Cooper McDill completed six of 12 of his pass attempts for 130 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Ridgeway saw his one attempt fall incomplete.
Ridgeway latched onto 2 passes for 13 yards. Camden Ward snagged three passes for 11 yards and a touchdown. Eli Whelchel reeled in one pass for six yards.
Ridgeway rushed for 25 yards with his 11 carries, Eli Vance had one carry for seven yards. McDill gained 54 yards with his six carries with one good for a touchdown.
McDill nailed down nine solo tackles and an assisted tackle. Ridgeway put up four solo tackles and two assisted tackles. Ward contributed four solo tackles. Whelchel was in with three solo tackles and three assists. Draiden Ault added three solo tackles and an assisted tackle. Ethan Wirth put down two solo tackles. Christian Wurm made a solo tackle and recorded an assisted tackle. Jevan Herfel and Aaron Underwood netted a solo tackle each.
The Lincoln Leopards arrive in Mankato Friday with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
