Gaylen Ernest Meyer, son of Ernest (Bud) H. Meyer and Arlyne Fredericka Johanna (Bartling) Meyer, was born Oct. 12, 1943, at Deshler, Neb- raska. He died on Dec. 22, 2024, at Jefferson Community Health & Life Gardenside, Fairbury, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 10 days.
Gaylen attended Midway School in rural Kansas and Hubbell Grade School. He graduated from Hebron High School in 1961, valedictorian of his class.
