Photos from: Drug dog part of Tails and Tales summer program

This year the summer reading program was coordinated with summer school, so more children and approximately 60 children and 15 adults were involved in the program. Animals played a big part in the activities and reading. Last Wednesday morning, a Smith County deputy brought his drug dog to Jewell County. There with the assistance with the Jewell County Sheriff, children learned about the dog and how it can help law enforcement. With lots of energy, they then crossed the courthouse lawn and settled quietly into position as they listened to an adult read a book to them at the Mankato Library.
