Michael Donley, age 60, of Burr Oak, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at his home. He was born on Sept. 2, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio to Robert and Peggy (Geyer) Donley.

Michael was a graduate of Colorado State University, getting a degree in agriculture. After which, he took an internship at Disney World’s Land Pavilion in Orlando, Fla., as a greenhouse technician. He later worked at the Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences at the University of Florida.

Michael’s adventures eventually led him to Burr Oak where he could pursue his passion for gardening. He was a true sportsman and enjoyed the outdoors.

Michael was a member of the United Methodist Church, Burr Oak, where he gained many caring people as family and a great support system.

During his long battle with brain cancer, Burr Oak and the surrounding communities became his family of care givers and support system.


He is survived by his wife, Judy, Burr Oak; brothers, Daniel Donley and Patrick (Debbie) Donley; sister, Beth Donley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Peggy Donley.

The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church.
