Saint named head coach for shooting program at Hastings

August 13, 2020

Michael Saint grew up just west of Jewell and graduated from Rock Hills High School with the Class of 2014. He is also a graduate of Fort Hays State University (FHSU) with both bachelor's and master's degrees. In addition, Saint possesses four national championship rings earned representing FHSU as a member of the shotgun club and shooting team.

Saint's skills and expertise have been recognized by Hastings College in Hastings. The school has hired him to take over the Broncos' shooting program. The program, a relatively new one, was started in 2013.

Coach Saint reported he will have "about 19 team members," both men and women, on the 2020-2021 Broncos team. Several squad members are returning from past seasons but "there will also be freshmen on the team." Recruiting is important and Saint is looking forward to that part of his job.

Already at work, Saint is anticipating the upcoming season's matches. An important one will be their own match, the Broncos Invitational held each year at Grand Island.

Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming season to the new coach
