Dean Rowley

Dean Abraham Rowley, the son of Walter and Thelma (Wyscaver) Rowley, was born on Sept. 22, 1944 in Superior, Neb. He died April 6, 2020 at his home in Hardy at the age of 75 years, 6 months, 15 days.

Dean grew up in Hardy and attended school in Superior. He enlisted with the United States Navy on July 16, 1963, and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1967, serving during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Sandra Fuller on July 18, 1968, at her home in Hardy. To this union four children were born.

Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, taking pictures and quilting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Thelma; brothers, William and Walter; his sister, Nita Ulsh; brother-in-law, Tom Wilson; nephew, Scott Wroughton; and grandson, Holden.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Hardy; children, Margaret (Brian) Larchick of Clarks, Neb .; Rex (Traci) Rowley of Hastings; Angela (Rob) Clark of Ainsworth; and Michael (Misty) Rowley of Ainsworth; eight grandchildren, Tony Larchick, Zachary Larchick and Brody Larchick, Kylie Jo Rowley, Kayla Klatt, Andrew Klatt, Trinity Rowley and Aiden Rowley; two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Dace Larchick; sisters-in-law, Rose Rowley of Superior and Linda Rowley of Hardy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.


Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor David Johnson officiating.

Recorded music was “Fishing in the Sky,” and “Even Though I’m Leaving.”

Inurnment with military honors was in the Hardy Cemetery at Hardy.
