Undersheriff Kim Ost is officially retiring from the Jewell County Sheriff’s Office. Kim started his career in 1977 at the Mankato Police Department at the age of 19 before working as a deputy with the Jewell County Sheriff’s Office beginning in 1978. He served as the Jewell County Sheriff from 2001 to 2005. He also worked part time as a park ranger with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. In 2015 Kim returned to the Jewell County Sheriff’s Office as the undersheriff where he finished his career.
