Bloodmobile will be in Nelson on Sept. 17

September 9, 2021

The Red Cross will be back in Nelson next week, Friday, Sept. 17,  from 9 to 3 p.m.,  at the city auditorium.

If you donated the last time they were in Nelson, on July 1, or when they were in Superior on July 20, it’s been more than the required eight weeks, (or 56 days) so you should be eligible to donate again.

You may be eligible, if you haven’t done a Double-Power Red Donation in the last 16 weeks and meet other guidelines or since May 28. The Blood Mobile was in Nelson on May 5.

You may still donate after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. Knowing the name of the manufacturer is critical in determining your blood donation eligibility.

The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control. For the safety of donors and staff, the Red Cross will require all those at blood drives and blood donation centers to resume wearing face masks regardless of their vaccination status.

It is highly recommended everyone have an appointment, and keep it. This will cut down wait time.

You can schedule yourself at www.redcrossblood.org  or call 800-733-2767, or if you need assistance, just give Sally  Uhrmacher a call at 402-225-4292  or  402-621-0434.
