Holiday season arriving with a flury of activities

November 25, 2021

The 30 days which connect today, Thanksgiving Day with Christmas will be packed with a whirlwind of activities.

An entire page in this issue of The Express is devoted to tell about just some of the many events planned for the month that connects Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Area residents of have been taking advantage of the mild fall weather to decorate their homes and businesses. Some have already turned on their lights and we expect a lot more lights will be switched on tomorrow (Friday). The Express had located two homes with what we considered to be attractive fall decorations that would make suitable pictures for this Thanksgiving Week paper. When we went to take the photos last Wednesday, we were surprised to find the fall decorations had already been switched out with Christmas decorations. Probably, we should have taken the photos when we first saw the decorations but we wanted to wait until the leaves fell from the trees. The leaves came down quick this year but they were late in doing so.

The first of the Superior Bucks drawings sponsored by the Superior Chamber of Commerce was held Monday. Winning 50 Superior Bucks were

Kim Gebers, Betty Carpenter, Maddyson Korb and Karie Thompson.

Additional drawings will be held between now and Christmas. Particpants register by visiting participating Superior stores.

Nationally Saturday is being promoted as Shop Small Day and a number of Superior business firms are joining in that campaign. Several of them have purchased advertising in this issue.

Candy Cane Lane will open at 6 p.m. Friday in Lincoln Park. Activities planned for Friday include horse drawn hay rides with loading starting at 5:30 at the Scout Cabin east of the Superior Elementary School. There will be refreshments and a warm crackling fire in the cabin after the wagon ride. Rides will also be given on Saturday night.
