Downtown Superior merchants will be in festive mood Friday

Once Upon a Christmas

Horse drawn hay rack rides were a popular attraction at Candy Cane Lane Friday and Saturday evenings. The balmy fall weather helped as family and friends filled the Scout Cabin in Lincoln Park to sip hot chocolate, roast hot dogs over an open fire and eat chili. Above, the team hesitates for only a moment before pulling a hay rack through a lighted tunnel at Candy Cane Lane in Superior.

Superior businesses and community organizations are joining together Friday to sponsor an event in downtown Superior that will entertain the youngsters and their parents. Called "Once Upon A Christmas" Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to be in the downtown area. Many stores will be offering treats, Brodstone Memorial Hospital will be serving a meal, and there will be a few movie.

This is the second free movie thus far of the Christmas season at the Crest. Saturday the Cutting Edge sponored a free movie matinee. At 7 p.m. Friday, the First United Methodist Church and Brodstone Memorial Hos...
