SHS student dies in Hastings auto crash

A Superior High School sophomore, Victoria Fleming, 16, was killed in a two-vehicle crash outside Hastings early Sunday morning.
She was a passenger in an eastbound vehicle on 12th Street. A nortbound vehicle on Blaine Avenue collided with the vehicle. There are stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic at Blaine Avenue. Another individual in the vehicle as well as Fleming, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of the northbound vehicle were transported to Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. The identities of the other parties involved and their conditions have not been released.
The Adams County Sheriff’s office received assistance from the Hastings Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.
The accident investigation is ongoing.
An individual was arrested Monday in connection with the accident. The Adams County Attorney said no charges had been filed.
Fleming was a member of the Superior High School Art Club. She was also a member of the choir.
