Warren Heinen

Warren Lee Heinen died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at the age of 66. He was born in Concordia, Kan., and raised in Formoso. Warren graduated from Mankato High School and continued his education graduating from Cloud County Junior College in Concordia in 1975 and Southwestern College in Winfield, in 1977. He had worked as an assistant manager but for most of his career life he worked for the State of Kansas as an auditor. After his retirement from the state because of his love of travel and photography, he established a travel website.

Survivors include his brothers, Alvin of Formoso, Gary (Kelly) of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark (Jolene) of Beloit, sister, Ann (Jerry) Jennings of Cedar Vale, Kan., four nephews and their wives, three great-nephews, six great-nieces, Aunt Eileen, of Topeka, Aunt Jean of Jewell, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Harold Heinen, and a great-niece.


Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday Dec. 14, at Kleppinger Funeral Home 409 Broadway, Jewell. His funeral was at 2 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 15, at Kleppinger Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Rice officiating. A graveside service followed at Wallace Cemetery east of Jewell.
