Lois Watts

Lois Marlene Mueller Watts, 83, was born to Edward Mueller and Naomi Rathbun Mueller on Jan. 29, 1938, on the family farm near Nelson, Neb. She died Dec. 23, at her home in Camarillo, Calif.

In her youth, Lois was active on the farm, participated in 4-H, and worshiped at Salem Lutheran Church where she was confirmed in 1951. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1956 and continued her education at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, earning a bachelors of arts in child education in 1960. She taught elementary school in Beatrice for four years.

Lois was united in marriage to Albert Jerry Watts on June 27, 1964. They moved to California and purchased a home in Camarillo later that year. She lived in the same home until her death 57 years later.

Lois and Albert had two children.

Lois was a member of Mount Cross Lutheran Church, Friends of the Camarillo Library, and the Commemorative Air Force, Southern California Wing. She loved the Lord, airplanes, reading and travel shows.


Lois is survived by her son, Albert John Watts; her daughter, Alicia Juli Kern; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Charles Kern; and many cousins who were dear to her.

Lois will be buried at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park next to her husband of almost 50 years. A memorial service was held at Mount Cross Lutheran Church on Dec. 30. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 9.
