The Superior High School wrestling team hosted the Superior Invitational at Superior High School, Friday.
The Wildcats took first place honors with 153 points. Other teams competing at the event were Smith Center, Conestoga, Hastings Junior Varsity, Sutton, Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian, Meridian, Phillipsburg, Southern and the Fairbury Junior Varsity.
The girls teams which competed were Adams Central, Conestoga, Southwest, Red Cloud-Blue Hill, Overton, Harvard and Superior.
The Superior boys team featured Cole Rughe placing third in the 106 pound weight bracket. Holden MacDonald earned 20 team points for Superior in the 106 pound weight bracket with his first place finish.
Brett Miller scored a first place finish in the 113 pound weight class. He earned 18 team points.
Dominique Baumbach took second place honors in the 120 pound weight bracket. He earned 10 team points.
Aaron Allgood was in third place in the 145 pound weight bracket. He was awarded 11 team points.
Tyler Everhart took second place in the 152 pound weight bracket while earning 14 team points.
Jordan Brown was in first place in the 170 pound weight bracket. He earned 24 points for the Wildcats. Angel Morgan picked up third place in the 183 pound weight bracket. He earned four team points.
Ty Woerner landed in third place in the 195 pound weight bracket. He was awarded 11 team points.
Anders Webber took top honors in the 220 pound weight bracket. He earned 22 team points for Superior. Henry Griljava held down fourth place in the 220 pound weight bracket. Christian Osweiler finished in sixth place in the 220 pound weight bracket.
Payton Christiancy stood on the first place step of the podium in the 285 pound weight class. His win earned 19 team points.
Stacey Cheyenne finished in fourth place in the girls team competition at 114 pounds. She earned four team points.
Superior visits Hebron, Friday, for the Thayer Central Invitational.
